Frank Drebin Jr. in action: New trailer for “Naked Gun” remake in August

"Baywatch" icon Pamela Anderson (57) and Hollywood star Liam Neeson (73) show off their slapstick skills in a new trailer for the reboot of the comedy "Naked Gun." Neeson takes on the role of Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the bumbling police officer Frank Drebin, who was once made famous by Leslie Nielsen, who died in 2010. Anderson is set to play his beloved, whose brother was murdered.
The remake revives the slapstick humor of the original: In one scene, Liam Neeson rips off his opponent's arms and hits him between the legs. In another, he offers Pamela Anderson a chair, whereupon she says "thank you" and leaves the office with the chair.
Fans can slap their thighs in August – according to the trailer, that's when the film will be released in theaters. The three "Naked Gun" comedies – "Naked Gun," "Naked Gun 2.5," and "Naked Gun 33.5" – were released between 1988 and 1994. In the original film series, Priscilla Presley played the role of the love interest.
Anderson rose to fame alongside David Hasselhoff in the 1990s Malibu lifeguard series "Baywatch." She has also appeared in films such as "Barb Wire," "Scary Movie 3," and "Superhero Movie." She received widespread attention and praise for her leading role in the drama "The Last Showgirl" (2024), in which she plays an aging Las Vegas showgirl struggling with the changing industry.
